I was just able to fix some unknown error in my MovableType install that wasn't allowing me to post anything to the site. Whew! That only took two weeks.
If some of you aren't aware, we are going to have our second baby min the next few weeks. I will be posting the announcement as soon as it happens, but in the mean time my presence here and at Reel Horror may be a little light. I am thinking that things will calm down once we see that the baby is 100% thanks to everyone for the support on the last eight months.
If I do end up going dark for a bit, check me out on twitter - http://www.twitter.com/michaelsbecker.
(Hello, run on sentence!)
Now, I recognize that my entire audience is made up of my mother and mother-in-law, but I'm still going to blog about my new gadget obsession.
The iPhone aka Apple found another way to drive me to my credit card.
The possibilities on this thing are amazing. And I so want one.
The best measure of this product is the Erisa Factor. Normally when I get a new "obsession" (like a certain bag that will remain nameless) she normally has this to say - "You don't need another toy."
When I showed her the iPhone she said, "I want one."
Well done, Steve Jobs. Now I have to buy two.
I must say I'm a bit jealous of Best Man Brian. He has these really witty and long posts about - for a lack of a better word - stuff, and all I seem to be able to pull out is these trite little entries that add up to very little.
Maybe the key here is to find a focus. Hmmm, that might be a good idea. But not a hugely narrow or strict one, since this is a personal blog, readable by co-workers, and others. No, I think I may have to dedicate my blog to general geekiness. Kinda like me.
That may be the direction this little site takes in the next year - a tribute to my general geekiness.
Yeah, that's the ticket.
We're three days in.
And I haven't done anything yet!
Oh, the humanity.
Seriously, though - I really want to get this year started right. Not because there is a universal urge to start anew at this time, but since we are adding the importance to a point in time I may as well take advantage of our collective need to have beginnings.
I hereby declare this New Year BEGAT!
Or begun. It's 1 AM, give me a break.
Given good things happening, individuals still find crap to bitch about.
I'm just saying.
Two thousand and six sure went quick. Since I did a craptastic job of keeping up my blog last year, I'm going to recap for all of those joining our program already in progress.
- Still working at Dr. Phil
- Started the Reel Horror Podcast
- Met tons of cool new people, but by far, Rudy and Casey are my current favorites.
- Z turned 2.
- Shot the promo for "Hosted" - more on this in the coming weeks (I promise)
- Lost weight, gained a little back, but not more than I lost (A VICTORY!)
- Got back in touch with some friends from Summers Past (This means you cat)
That is of course not all, but it's a bunch of the major points. I'm really looking forward to 2007.
