For now.

But only for now.

Developing....

One more thing....

Best Man Brian left TRL on Friday. He was also on TRL on Friday.

I wish him the best with freelance work.

I'm going to IM him, but before too much time passes I figured I say some thing here.

I may even start linking to his blog.

iPhone

Now, I recognize that my entire audience is made up of my mother and mother-in-law, but I'm still going to blog about my new gadget obsession.

The iPhone aka Apple found another way to drive me to my credit card.

The possibilities on this thing are amazing. And I so want one.

The best measure of this product is the Erisa Factor. Normally when I get a new "obsession" (like a certain bag that will remain nameless) she normally has this to say - "You don't need another toy."

When I showed her the iPhone she said, "I want one."

Well done, Steve Jobs. Now I have to buy two.

Event Horizon

After some Drama (yes, capital D) on the forum at Reel Horror, I have to reflect for a moment on the serendipity that is happening in my life right now. The Universe is providing for me in ways six months ago I didn't think possible. While I cannot discuss them currently there are many things active happening that may change the game for me.

My lands, I sound like really crappy PR speak, but when you have to be cagey, you have to be cagey.

Frak me

I need to focus - so much to do.

MacWorld 2007

| | Comments (0)

The MacWorld keynote is going on right now.  It basically boils down to Apple tell me why I have to give them all my money.

Sad thing, is most of the time I agree with them.

I'm not going to look at anything until the video is up, and then I will give my impressions.

AHHHH.

Simply put, I'm looking at too many ways to solve the same problem. The skinny is I'm working on overhauling Reel Horror, and right now the system is setup MovableType and static edited pages. I want to move to a CMS that will allow me to hand off every aspect of the site. I'm crashing around in the dark with Drupal and WordPress just popped up on my radar. I just wish I had an extra two solid days to dedicate to figuring this out.

I will blog about the final decision.

Waxing

I must say I'm a bit jealous of Best Man Brian. He has these really witty and long posts about - for a lack of a better word - stuff, and all I seem to be able to pull out is these trite little entries that add up to very little.

Maybe the key here is to find a focus. Hmmm, that might be a good idea. But not a hugely narrow or strict one, since this is a personal blog, readable by co-workers, and others. No, I think I may have to dedicate my blog to general geekiness. Kinda like me.

That may be the direction this little site takes in the next year - a tribute to my general geekiness.

Yeah, that's the ticket.

Time Keeps Slipping

We're three days in.

And I haven't done anything yet!

Oh, the humanity.

Seriously, though - I really want to get this year started right. Not because there is a universal urge to start anew at this time, but since we are adding the importance to a point in time I may as well take advantage of our collective need to have beginnings.

I hereby declare this New Year BEGAT!

Or begun. It's 1 AM, give me a break.

New Years Eve

Hearty congratulations are in order for Best Man Brian who wrote the New Years Eve show for TRL on MTV. I hear it was totally bananas.

Good things

Given good things happening, individuals still find crap to bitch about.

I'm just saying.

I'm officially starting the new year at the end of the week as far as resolutions go.  I just need one more week of being a complete slug.  I do have an idea of what I'm going to try to accomplish this year so I'm going to codify it here now for posterity.  These are not in a form yet with a good metric or milestones, but this is just the initial project list, not how I'm going to accomplish it

  1. Get in shape
  2. Release Hosted
  3. Relaunch RH
  4. Become my own Project Manager
  5. Learn to draw
  6. Get organized (this may be a part of 4, not sure)
  7. Figure out what I want to be in 5 years and start towards that

Hope you have a "Super" new year.

Happy New Year!

Two thousand and six sure went quick. Since I did a craptastic job of keeping up my blog last year, I'm going to recap for all of those joining our program already in progress.

  1. Still working at Dr. Phil
  2. Started the Reel Horror Podcast
  3. Met tons of cool new people, but by far, Rudy and Casey are my current favorites.
  4. Z turned 2.
  5. Shot the promo for "Hosted" - more on this in the coming weeks (I promise)
  6. Lost weight, gained a little back, but not more than I lost (A VICTORY!)
  7. Got back in touch with some friends from Summers Past (This means you cat)

That is of course not all, but it's a bunch of the major points. I'm really looking forward to 2007.
