It has been an eternity since I wrote. That's what happens when you come out of hiatus I assume. Things have been super busy with the show, and the filming is going really well. I'm hoping to get a chance to see one from the control room, but that is still very much in the air.

I've decided to start covering some technology news and products in this blog and in the new site design of Ghent.Net. I love technology and I think I've something to say about gadgets and tech, so look for that soon.

We're gearing up for the first ReelHorror.com podcast, and I think I'm going to have everything together to start production of that after labor day. I need to pick up another headset possibly depending on how well the stand alone mic I have works. If the one I have works I will probably have to get a mic stand. Very exciting, but I'm hoping to setup a tip jar to help offset some of the costs

Stay-tuned for some possible acting news soon. (Can't say yet, but maybe once everything is finalized).

Also - I'm using an new gmail address, so if you want to reach me, it's michaelseanbecker+blog at gmail.com

ONe last parting shot, I have fixed comments so the comment span should stop. You have to register with TypeKey, but that is painless, and free.

Much more, more often, very soon.

Sunday afternoons

|

The Sunday doldrums of my youth seem to have returned this weekend. It's not so much that I don't drive myself crazy all week long, going in fifteen different directions, not staying on topic long enough to finish any project completely. Not so much that I write run on sentences that seem to have escaped 4th grade grammar prison, either - apparently.

There is no other word for what I am experiencing right now. I am bored. Just plain bored. How can this be possible? I have so much work around the apartment that it seems there is no possible way to get a toe-hold on the entire affair. I'm so tired I wish I could sleep for a week, but at the same time I don't think I could if I tried.

I would have said it was laziness up until about a half-an-hour ago, but I really think it is something else. Creatively, I feel stumped. I don't know what I am going to do about it, but right now I feel I desperately need a creative outlet to get some brain activity moving.

Return to the Outdoors

|

We jumped off the grid this weekend to catch up on some well needed rest and relaxation. Up about an hour and a half out side of LA there is a little campground called George Wheeler outside of Ojia Valley.

To say that this weekend was spectacular would be a gross understatement. It was the most relaxed I have been in nearly four years. Just getting away, being disconnected, and completely free of worry was something I think everyone needs now and again.

Our camp was right next to a beautiful water-fall (about 12 feet tall). Erisa, Z, and I pitched our tent right on the edge of the gorge that the creek went through. All night long we got the soothing white noise of the water rushing over the rocks. The night sky was fantastic as well. To be able to see stars again - I can't express how much that I had missed the actual night sky as opposed to the purple haze we get in LA.

Being this relaxed - of course I got sick. Stupid head cold. My immune system took a vacation as well.

We will definitely be doing more camping.
