April 2005 Archives

Less than a week, and two posts? Surely you jest!

I don't, and don't call me Shirley.

It appears, through no fault of my own, that my time at Disney is winding up. My contract is currently extended through May 6th, and then its on to other pastures.

Good lord, I hate looking for a job. That may be in essence why the acting bug stalled when presented with real world realities, namely that you have to audition every 15 minutes. That's what makes writing great. You send your work out. Or so I'm told. I really do need to get working on that draft.

The prospects I have so far are all a minimum of thirty minutes away. That's without traffic. It will be - I'm going to go with nightmare - a nightmare to have to join the denizens of rush hour. But at least I have my iPod. And access to Dad's Audible account.

Site service may be spotty in the next weeks. There is a server storm a'brewing, and we have to get the cows into the barn.

Emerging

After what appears to be ages lost in the jungle of cubicleville, I emerge with hard earned victories, experience, and 5 less pounds (go me). It has been, you know, life, around here. Zane has 6 teeth, almost walking, and it's quite possible he is saying "Mama" and "Dada", except only when frustrated. Oddly enough, that was what spurred him to climb up on the small couch in the first place.

Work is work. I'm there until May 6th, and then who knows what happens. The skill, again, invaluable. The weekly paycheck, priceless.

I do have some side projects on the horizon, that I of course can't talk about (NDA hahahahahahahahaha), but could be very cool work, and actually paying this time.

I'm trying to build up the momentum to upgrade Ghent.Net, and this site, but every-time I go to up the blog software it craps out. Kinda hard to get motivated when technology attacks.

I've been following The Matrix Online the past few days, and it's a shame I don't have time or, well, the actual interest that goes with playing one of the these MMOGs. The level of commitment is really, quite too high for me. I'm a causal gamer at best, and my spare time has been filled with so much other stuff in the past few months, that there is no way possible that I could spend the requisite 8 hours a week playing one of these games. Which, completely bummed me out since the game continues the story of the movies, and is written by the Worchanski (well, that's not even close, but I'm too lazy to cross check) Brothers. Fortunately, they are documenting the story as it unfolds on the previously mentioned website, so I will be following along with that.

The ktichen is calling, and I must attack. RELEASE THE DOGS!!!!!
