The gears are rolling

|

The last two days have gone by very, very quickly. Both days at work seemed to be over by the time I sat down in the Cube Farm, and last night slipped away as I worked on the drawing. It's getting better, but the cartoon version of Erisa is really hard to do for some reason. Ehhh.

I'm finishing up another project this week, and my project @ Disney is winding down, so I won't know for a while my status there, wether I will be picked up again or not. [beware run on sentences]

Vonage is supposed to arrive at the apartment tomorrow, but I'm not holding my breath. Not the best track record with UPS.

Oh, Brother, Where Art Thou?

Terri's movie was picked this week.

Golden Globes

|

There went three hours of my life I'm not getting back. Just absolutely boring. I didn't care before, and the celebs weren't nearly drunk enough to make it interesting.

The problem - I didn't see Jack Nicholson the whole evening. The show really was lacking for his indoor sunglasses look. So cool the sun shines on him at night and inside a building.

Resolutions ToDo for the New Year

|
There are a bunch of things I want to get accomplished this year, but I'm sick of breaking resolutions. Instead, this year I have come up with my New Year ToDo list. Things will get marked off this list, and added - it's a living document, to borrow from my new corporate glossary of double speak.

Here it is in all it's glory:

Move Slowly towards the glowing light

|

We had the wrap party for InternetRomance.Net. Lots of fun, the cut of the trailer looks great, and I got to stare out on LA from the balcony. Best view I have seen of the city . Since the rain cleared the air (and sides of the mountains) you could see Westwood, Downtown, Beverly Hills, and all the way out to Santa Monica. Absolutely gorgeous.

So - where does this go from here? That's an excellent question (you in the back - gold star)

First - the show is being packaged by an agency out here, and then we will pitch it. John has asked me to be involved with the pitch, which I see as a great honor, especially since I was hired as only the web designer.

Since this process is shifting to a new phase of the project, I keep looking over what's changed since I've been involved:

  • Zane was born about 2 weeks before we shot the trailer
  • Disney Contract

These are not two small things either (I really thought I was going to come up with more than that, oh well).

I did get a renewed sense of esteem regarding the whole acting thing, and writing. It was a definite confidence builder to have my performance so well received (although I think I looked like I was storing food for winter, but that's why I'm working out now, right). I'm putting together a plan to treat my entertainment career as a business and myself as a commodity. I think that is the mistake many actors take with their work is not seeing the diacotomy of artist/business person. Once you have people (agents, managers, etc.) working for you that becomes easier, but it's too easy to fall into the trap of viewing the whole business being personal, partially because it is - but if you focus on that, it is absolutely crippling.

There it is. 2 cents.

I may have invented sentence structure, and I hate not having my spell check on this one, b/c no way did I spell everything right.

Animals by two

It's a little soggy in soCal. We've gotten more rain in the last two weeks, then we do in an entire rainy season.

And they measure that until June.

June, people!

As we batten down the hatches for Water Strom 2005, I just am glad I'm not this guy.

Now that you've all looked at that - this is his real estate listing.

Wow. Just wow. Right now, I'm glad we rent.

There is a colony in the fridge

|

My fridge scares me. I think the food is planning a revolution to overthrow the swine (i.e. me) that controls the coming of the sun. Or we should have thrown food away before we left. Quite frightening.

We are back in Burbank after a world wind trip of Florida. I would have said South Florida (South Florida as opposed to Southern California, not sure why that amused me - and yet it did). It's always a good vacation when you feel you need to get back to your routine. Came into work yesterday @ 6 AM, b/c Zane wasn't aware that we had changed time zones, but he was much better today. We seem to be back on schedule.

I'm entering into the final 1/3 of my contract @ Disney, and it has been a great experience. I hope I get extended, but if not, I've learned quite a bit.

I'm playing around with RSS on this site and Reel Horror, and I'm also putting together my thoughts on a Podcast for RH. Podcasting is about 6 months old now, and it involved attaching an MP3 file to the RSS enclosure, and then that is downloaded by a newsreader to a iPod (or other MP3 player). It's a very intriguing idea for a weekly RH show, but there are some logistical things (like bandwidth) that I have to work out. I will keep every one posted, and provide a link to anything we get up over there.

Possible TV show news this week, or next (Just realized its Thursday - this is a very short week indeed).

Must get back to my tea.

Scene It? is the best game

| | Comments (0)

My parents got us scene it? the game for Xmas, and we've played every night since New Years Eve. Apparently there is a 007, Disney, and another version. We're going to play the 1/2 version on movie nights to decide who gets to pick the movie.

We were going to start packing tonight, but I think I'm going to bed early. Z has been getting us up @ 3 AM, so I'm hoping to at least get a little rest tonight.
