November 2004 Archives
After 10 hours in the car on Sunday, we are back, and I'm at my desk at work. This was the first year I've really dealt with Holiday traffic, and - oh boy - does it suck. We spent four hours driving through Palm Springs at 20 mph. I'm very glad that this wasn't durring the summer, b/c once you hit Death Valley - no a/c. Saw some very cool sand storms on I-10, but had to drive through them, which - not so good.
The weekend was great. We spent it with E's Uncle and Aunt and Cousin in Phoenix. We were able to go to an arts and crafts fair, and pick up some stuff for the holidays coming up.
From Phoenix, AZ. We got in last night after a 10 hour drive. For anyone checking, it is only supposed to take 6 hours. I hate holiday traffic.
But worth the drive. :)
The impossible - starting a health plan around the holidays. If I had any sense (or choice for that matter), I would wait until the New Year, but I'm getting a month drop on my weight problem.
It has become a problem. When I weighed 160 it was something I had to work on. I'm now concerned for my health. Not in a 500 lbs, haven't moved in a year, concern, but a can't get up the stairs without being tired, concern. I'm going to keep track of my progress on this site, much the same way I tracked my G5 saving. So with out further adue - my first fitness entry:
Current weight: 183 lbs.
BMI: 25.74
FINAL GOAL: 135 lbs.
First Goal: 170 lbs.
I am going to attempt to loose 13 lbs by the New Year. That's five weeks away, so 2 and change pounds a week. That is so doable.

Just read through my last couple of post, and it's been almost two weeks. Whoops.
Saw The Incredibles, which is incredible. Really. Not just b/c Disney pays me. One of the best three movies I have ever seen.
I am writing this on my NEW G5. I saved, I worked, and now I have this screaming machine. Very, very happy.
We're off to Phoenix for T-day on Weds. I will try to post while we are there, and check out pictures when we get back.
No, I have not seen it.
No, I didn't download it.
Yes, I'm going to go see it in the theatre this week.
The Return of the King - Burger King is resurrecting a dubious icon. Why? By Seth Stevenson
From the article:
By the way, the Double Croissan'wich (with two meat portions and two slices of cheese) is officially classified an "indulgent sandwich" in Burger King terminology. "Our research showed there was space for a larger, more indulgent build," says Paul Macaluso, Burger King product manager for breakfasts. "Our customers were ready for it." In other words: Have it your way, fatty!
That's the second time I've heard "fatty!" used like this in the last 24 hours. [Other was, "Shut your cakehole, fatty!"] Makes me chuckle every time.
